This programme of master of social work got initiated from June1998, later on programmer of Master of Labour Welfare (MLW) was also introduced from 2006. Realizing the need and significant research in social work. M.Phil. (MSW) is also introduced from the year. Currently there are four Programs run at the department- M.S.W, M.L.W., M.Phil. (Social Work) and Ph.D. (Social work). All Programs are self-finance but fee structure designed by the university is most reasonable for the students to effort for the same. Department is recently placed at newly built premises with all academic infrastructure. This includes separate department library and computer library. This Department of Social Work has earned well repute within the state and beyond the state of Gujarat. Many of the scholars having completed master degree are well placed in prominent industry houses and NGO’s. The department is actively connected with leading social work departments of India. The department is also benefited with prominent academicians and industrialist from within and beyond Gujarat. There are 14 research scholars having completed Doctoral Program at the department.
